About the gallery:
Tom Robinson is a master fine art painter and wood sculptor. As the name suggests, the gallery is also his studio where creates art and offers figure drawing workshops.
About the curators:
When Chicago-based visual artists Fletcher Hayes and Kim Laurel were offered an exhibition at Tom Robinson Studio/Gallery, they broadened the opportunity to include 44 other artists to participate in a group exhibition. They put forth a challenge to the artists to create one or more new works on the theme of Ethereal Fauna: The Artist’s Muse, and using a specific art material Yupo, a synthetic paper. The artwork becomes an installation piece for a unified effect. A previous curatorial collaboration of Hayes and Laurel in 2006 produced the group exhibition “Wild Things and Beyond” at Mars Gallery.

Before I hit the bed, soon after the laundry was sorted out, after the day full of accessory design, reluctant movements under the penetrating sun, my adorable kids playing, packing for Kentucky, the thought of my love waiting for me over there prompted me to scribble a love note of sorts. It is only proper to look at such drawings as letters written by artists, similar to the sonets of Michelangelo.
